Tarangire National Park Covering approximately 2600 square kilometer, Tarangire lies to the south of large open grass plains of southern Maasai land, 105 kilometers from Moshi. The features of Tarangire which correlate with the type of animal residing in the area are grassland and flood plains. Tarangire is commonly famous for its tree climbing Lion, Zebra, Hartebeests, Elephants, Buffalo, Water Bucks, Gazelles, Oryx and abundant birdlife.
